"The pilgrimage proves we are willing to give of ourselves for the greater good. What does it say about me if I turn my back on this?"
— Tali'Zorah giving her reasons for joining the Normandy Squad in 2183 CE.

Mistress Tali'Shepard pav Rannoch (formerly known as Tali'Zorah nar RayyaTali'Zorah vas NeemaTali'Zorah vas Normandy, Tali'Shepard vas Normandy, Tali'Shepard vas Machina and Tali'Shepard vas Normandy) was a Migrant Fleet marine combat engineer/admiral in the MFM, who was also a member of the Normandy Squad, as well as part of the original six. Originally on her pilgrimage when she joined the squad, she has since matured significantly, going from a veteran MFM marine to the top of the quarian admiralty board, effectively commanding the entire Migrant Fleet. During her service in the Eden Prime War, she developed feelings for, and eventually entered a relationship with, Marcus L. Shepard. They eventually got married, having one child together. Serving as the ship's combat engineer on the ground and chief engineer of the Normandy SR-2, Tali'Zorah remained one of the ship's most valuable members, as well as one of Shepard's most trusted friends, as well as his girlfriend, and later, wife. Tali survived the Reaper War and later fought in the Post-Apocalyptic War, where she retired from the military afterwards as Mistress of the High Senate. She was later assassinated by Prometheus whilst recovering in hospital from a firefight at her home (which also involved Prometheus): however, Tali had planned for this, and used her imminent assassination to expose Prometheus' actions to the public, making her a martyr in what was then the inevitable Dominion Civil War, with Tali's death being used as a rallying cry for the Dominion Dissident Front.
