RNS Revengeance was a Revengeance-class stealth cruiser in the Rannoch Republican Navy. It was the head of its class, and the most advanced warship in the galaxy during the time period of its service. Jointly designed by both quarian and human military interests several years after the Reaper War, the RNS Revengeance was to be the first of a new breed of warships to succeed the Normandy and Normandy II-class stealth frigates. The Revengeance was intended as a prototype to sell its government on the feasibility of the class, and as it was seen as the successor to the by then-decommissioned Normandy SR-2, the honor of the ship's command was given to Tali'Shepard, who similarly staffed the ship with former Normandy crew members.
The ship wouldn't make a name for itself until the Border War, where it nigh single-handedly helped to disrupt Hegemony operations on their eastern border. Proving itself as a stealth interdiction vessel due to its advanced cloak helping it to infiltrate Hegemony territory seamlessly, the Revengeance became the pride of the Rannochian navy, and a sign of quarian naval supremacy in the years to come. Tali would continue to command the ship well into the Post-Apocalyptic War, when it became the flagship of the Dominion's naval forces. The ship became infamous during the war, where it earned the epithet 'Ghost of Rannoch'. Its success eventually caused the New Council to sanction an elaborate trap to ambush and capture the Revengeance. The subsequent battle was a decisive New Council victory, with the Revengeance crippled before its crew could scuttle it. The research gathered from the ship wasn't enough to win the war however, and once it ended, the Revengeance and its crew was surrendered back into Dominion hands, where it resumed active service. The vessel would then eventually serve in the Dominion Civil War under the DDF, and was finally destroyed in battle at the Battle of the Citadel-Ark.
"Revengeance" is defined as a "furious act of revenge." The term is derived from the need to furiously avenge the death of Commander Shepard and bring about the utopian future he wanted for the galaxy. It was also chosen to specifically denote its affiliation with the Normandy-class, and its unofficial status as a successor to the SSV Normandy SR-2.
