Pilgrimage

From FABT

"The Pilgrimage proves we are willing to give of ourselves for the greater good. What does it say about me if I turn my back on this?"
— Tali'Zorah.

The Pilgrimage, alternatively known as the Quarian Rite of Passage, is a quarian transition from adolescence into adulthood. When they have reached a certain age deemed acceptable, these quarians will leave their birth ship to seek a new, permanent home; to do this, they must seek the approval of the ship's captain. In doing this, they must bring back an item of importance, and to do this, the quarian in question must leave the Fleet and return only once that item has been recovered. The tradition was developed during the Quarian Exodus, and was used throughout the Migrant Fleet's 300-year-old existence. Post-Reclamation, the pilgrimage has become so deeply interwoven into quarian culture so as to be permanent, and has been adapted into the new role of having quarians perform "work experiences" before they can become full adults.
