The Armageddon shotgun was a fully automatic heat sink-based block-fed heavy shotgun manufactured by Kassa Fabrication. Manufactured and entering service in 2171 CE, the Armageddon shotgun was a high-end heavy shotgun designed to be used in a wide array of roles by mercenary companies and security corporations, but was also used by numerous interstellar militaries, among them the asari military. The weapon had excellent armor and barrier penetration, heat mitigation and accuracy, although it possessed heavy recoil. The Armageddon was a favourite among many krogan mercenaries and bounty hunters, as well as krogan warriors, due to its massive stopping power and accuracy, shredding through krogan and other organics with ease, and even synthetics. The weapon was, in design, succeeded by the M-23 Katana following the introduction of thermal clips in 2184 CE, which replaced block-fed weapons wholesale across the entire galaxy following the Battle of the Citadel. No direct successor to the Armageddon exists, with Kassa specializing in entirely in armor rather than weapons, with the exception of their famous M-12 Locust. In the asari military, the Armageddon would be replaced by the AR-36 Disciple.
