The Warlord heavy combat armor was a ceramic-based protective heavy combat armor manufactured by Chunda Armoury. Manufactured and entering service in 380 CE, the Warlord armor was initially designed for use by members of Clan Chunda, but as Chunda Armoury's facilities expanded and the armor became more sought after, they began building sets of the Warlord armor for the Tuchankan Imperial Forces, with millions of them being used by krogan soldiers and commandos across the Tuchankan Empire, and the armor would perform well during the Krogan Rebellions, especially after Chunda Armoury further improved upon it by adding kinetic barriers and thicker armor plating. Designed to take as much punishment as possible, a user in Warlord armor was boasted to be capable of surviving several direct hits from high-explosive shells and rockets and the user would barely be injured. Following the Rebellions and after Clan Chunda joined with the Tuchankan Traditionalists, they continued to manufacture new sets of Warlord armors, albeit of poorer quality and with stripped parts due to a lack of the resources they previously had. Warlord armor would continue to be used through to the Reaper War following its upgrade to steel plating, but was finally phased out by 2212 CE as it was fully replaced by the Warlord II, a modern successor to the original Warlord.
