- "Those weak-minded fools have poisoned your mind, runt. They would have you believe that peace is the solution...they've allowed females to make their decisions for them. No, war is the solution, and so long as those Reformists stand in my way, they'll always be my enemy."
- — Urdnot Jarrod to Urdnot Wrex during their last conversation before Jarrod's War breaks out.
The Tuchankan Reformists, also known as the Krogan Reformists or simply the Reformists by other krogan, was a military alliance of krogan clans, nations and other krogan interests that represented one of two factions fighting during the Krogan Civil Wars in its later stages, replacing their predecessor the Tuchankan Progressionists in 1184 CE, and aligned under the belief of Khoxxism, wanting to focus on post-war reconstruction, breeding in order to maintain a stable population and to engage in peaceful dialogue with the other clans. The Reformists were formed under Clan Margon in 1184 CE following the dissolution of their predecessor, the Progressionists, who collapsed into civil war following the Campaigns of Suyak the Great, only reforming afterwards when rallied under Clan Margon, who named their new faction the "Reformists" to represent their more concise goal of reforming krogan society in an attempt to replicate the ways of the ancient krogan, before the nuclear holocaust they inflicted on themselves thousands of years ago, and in an effort to stay true to the original plan laid out by Borloc Khoxx. Despite this, the Traditionalists commanded the majority of the most powerful clans, with the most powerful Reformist counterparts, such as Clan Raik and Clan Thax, not having the strength alone to fight Clan Urdnot or Clan Weyrloc. Much like the Progressionists before them, the Reformists spent much of the war on the back foot, although they did choose to adopt a more defensive strategy against the Traditionalists, capturing the necessary outposts and strongholds in order to secure strategically important footholds to beat back advances by the Traditionalists. This strategy held back their rivals for a time, and the Reformists even won a few wars against Traditionalist forces during this time period. The Reformists even gained the upperhand following a decisive victory against Clan Strirgon in the Final War of Clan Strirgon in 1246 CE, the same clan which had founded and spearheaded the Traditionalists since the beginning of the krogan civil wars: in the series of Traditionalist civil wars known as the Wars of the Strirgon Succession, lasting until 1390 CE, the Reformists were able to launch several key offensives, retaking lost territory and gaining several new footholds, which the Traditionalists were unable to take back. Immediately after consolidating their power again, the Traditionalists, now under Urdnot leadership, beat back and retook the lost strongholds from the Reformists, even capturing several new outposts until they were back to their pre-war positions, having gained nothing.
The Reformists briefly joined forces with the Traditionalists to crush the rampant Tigar the Blasphemer in the War of the Blasphemer, during which the son of Chieftain Urdnot Jarrod, Urdnot Wrex, would engage in a philosophical debate with numerous Reformist commanders, leading to an epiphany within the krogan: this epiphany led to civil war with Clan Urdnot in 1541 Ce, with Wrex leading a Reformist faction within Urdnot against his father. The Reformists backed the Urdnot Reformists during their war, but this proved to be for nought when Wrex left Tuchanka into self-imposed exile after he killed his father in the Hollows following Jarrod's attempt to murder his son on holy ground. Despite this, the Reformists gained some breathing room by the exit of Clan Urdnot from the civil wars, and the wars began to even out, with neither side gaining an advantage over the other, and the Reformists consolidating their strength. With the backing of many of the female clans, the Reformists were confident they would eventually achieve victory over the Traditionalists, and in 2183 CE, their beliefs were rewarded with the return of Urdnot Wrex. Upon seizing control of Clan Urdnot from his brother, Urdnot Wreav, Wrex summoned the Reformist leadership to the Hollows where he announced his intention to lead them, followed by his declaration of total war against the Traditionalists and his reorganization of the Reformists into the United Krogan Clans, his dream for a unified krogan nation-state. Much of the Reformist leadership agreed to Wrex's proposal, and those that remained skeptical accepted anyway because they knew they needed the support Urdnot provided if they wished to defeat the Traditionalists. With the ratification and acceptance of the Urdnot Pact by the Reformists and female clans on 30 July 2183 CE, the Reformists were formally dissolved, becoming the UKC.
