THS Mendicant Bias was a Century-class light cruiser in the Navy of Palaven and Citadel Defense Fleet. The hundredth ship of her class to be built, the Mendicant Bias was originally assigned to the Second Fleet under Prefect Bantia Rameseus. The Mendicant Bias served with the Second Fleet for the majority of its lifespan, and would be present during the Enael conflict, where it took part in the orbital blockade over the planet imposed to block batarian slaver access, with explicit orders to shoot down or raid any slaver vessels attempting to break orbit: the Mendicant Bias, along with another turian, two asari and one salarian vessel, would be called in to bombard the remnants of a failed batarian mercenary assault near Lake Gremoria. Following the Enael conflict, the Mendicant Bias continued to serve with the Second Fleet until 2181 CE, where it was reassigned to the Citadel Defense Fleet for the brief remainder of its career. The Mendicant Bias spent most of its time patrolling the Widow system, enforcing customs regulations, monitoring traffic and/or running blockade against criminal ships attempting to escape C-Sec.
On 19 July 2183 CE, the Mendicant Bias took part in the Battle of the Citadel when a massive geth heretic fleet, spearheaded by the Reaper Sovereign, launched a surprise attack on the Citadel with the aim of taking it. The Mendicant Bias was destroyed by the initial salvo from the geth fleet, the ship being hit directly in its bow by at least 21 geth torpedoes and six anti-ship rounds that obliterated the ship within a minute of the engagement starting. The sacrifice of the Mendicant Bias and its crew are noted on the Heroes of the Citadel monument, along with the other CDF ships destroyed protecting the Citadel.
