SSV Warsaw LD-1 (Light Defense-1) was a Warsaw-class light frigate in the Alliance Navy. The head of its class, the Warsaw was the first of a new class of light frigates designed and commissioned in the wake of the First Contact War to replace the Kursk-class. Unlike the rest of the Alliance fleet, the Kursk-class had proven itself quite sufficient in tackling its turian contemporaries, and as such the Warsaw-class was almost shelved in favor of merely upgrading the Kursk-class to meet the new requirements of the Alliance Navy: this was however overturned in favor of replacing the Kursk-class entirely, a political move meant to demonstrate to the Council races humanity's ability to rapidly adapt to its new environment. As such, the Warsaw-class incorporates one of the fewest changes out of any new Alliance ship class at the time, adding minor improvements in hull plating, gunnery control, shielding, maneveurability, and fuel efficiency. When the Warsaw was finally commissioned as the first of these new ships, its new captain, transferred from his former command over a Kursk-class vessel, noted that it felt like a snug fit, and incredibly familiar. The Warsaw was assigned to the Fifth Fleet under Admiral Steven Hackett, one of five new fleets established in the wake of the war. The Warsaw saw action during the Skyllian Blitz, where it participated in the Battle of the Dhopris System, and again during the Eden Prime War, where it fought during the Battle of Armstrong, sustaining minor damage during the engagement. The Warsaw would fly in with the rest of the Fifth Fleet at the Battle of the Citadel, where it became one of many ships lost over the course of the battle, with the Warsaw being overwhelmed by geth return fire whilst saving the ARW Destiny Ascension. The sacrifice of the Warsaw and her crew is noted on the Heroes of the Citadel monument, along with the other ships of the Fifth Fleet that were destroyed saving the Citadel.

The ship was named after the Battle of Warsaw of the Great Northern War.
