The Warsaw-class light frigate was a classification of frigate that served in the Systems Alliance Navy from 2173 CE to 2191 CE, and the Systems Coalition Navy from 2191 CE to 2193 CE, and was the successor to the Kursk-class. Introduced three years before the Skyllian Blitz, the Warsaw-class sported some improvements over its predecessor, including an improved FTL drive, longer-range and more precise weapons and kinetic barriers, the latter of which wasn't present on the Kursk-class. Unlike other classes upgraded post-First Contact War, the Warsaw-class was not particularly advanced, and simply added simple improvements over the Kursk-class. However, the class was extremely cheap and feasible to build, allowing the Alliance to mass produce it, which proved useful during the Reaper War. Following the war, a newer design was quickly drawn up, and it would be replaced by the Kharkov-class.
The class is named after the Battle of Warsaw of the Great Northern War.
