- — Systems Alliance motto
The Systems Alliance, simply known as the Alliance, and also known as the Earth Systems Alliance, Earth Alliance and Human Alliance, was the representative body of Earth, its nations and human colonies from 2149 CE to 2191 CE. Founded in 2149 CE, the Systems Alliance was drafted by all nine of Earth's nations to spearhead its colonization of the solar system, and eventually the space beyond, as well as its united military. Alliance space was a region owned, patrolled and claimed by the Systems Alliance, and was located in the lower half of Council space. Its capital was Arcturus Station before its destruction, and was a member of the Council, as well as a brief member of the New Council before it was succeeded by the Systems Coalition. The Systems Alliance, during its existence, had a military capable of countering that of the Turian Hierarchy, which before had never been matched. In 2191 CE, a galaxy-wide referendum led to the dissolution of the Alliance and its replacement by the Coalition.
The motto of the Systems Alliance is the Latin term "Nam Melius Cras", which roughly translates to "For a better tomorrow."
