THS Solemn Spirit was a Century-class light cruiser in the Navy of Palaven and Citadel Defense Fleet. The fortieth ship of her class to be built, the Solemn Spirit was originally assigned to the Sixth Fleet under Prefect Tiberiter Salviso, serving with the Sixth Fleet for one hundred and twenty years before being reassigned to the Citadel Defense Fleet, where it spent the rest of its career. The Solemn Spirit spent most of its time in the CDF either patrolling the Widow system, enforcing customs regulations, monitoring traffic and/or running blockade against criminal ships attempting to escape C-Sec. On 8 October 2154 CE, the Solemn Spirit was ordered by C-Sec to halt the escape of a pleasure yacht carrying stolen goods and illegal munitions, which was believed to have a batarian spy onboard. The Solemn Spirit moved to block the ship's path, but in the process of the yacht attempting to fly around the turian cruiser, the two ships briefly made contact, with the yacht raking a 19 meter long hole in the cruiser's hull. While the cruiser was damaged, the damage to the smaller and unarmoured yacht was far more significant, with one of its engines crushed against the hull of the cruiser and the destabilized pitch of the yacht sending it spinning aimlessly through space. A tractor beam was able to steady the craft before it crashed into one of the wards, and the batarian spy was taken into custody, while the Solemn Spirit briefly underwent some repairs before returning to active duty.
On 12 July 2183 CE, the Solemn Spirit was assigned as part of a CDF task force, Task Force Zulu, to guard the Hector relay in the Scorpius cluster in the event of Saren Arterius attempting an assault on the Citadel with his geth army. Despite these precautions, the Solemn Spirit and its task force would be ambushed by Sovereign and a massive geth fleet in the opening stages of the Battle of the Citadel on 19 July 2183 CE, with the Solemn Spirit and the other ships of the task force being utterly obliterated before they could warn the station of the incoming attack. The Solemn Spirit and its crew are noted on the Heroes of the Citadel monument, along with the other CDF ships destroyed protecting the Citadel.
