CSV Munich AE-22 (Attack/Escort-22) was a Montreal-class heavy cruiser in the Coalition Navy. A direct successor to the Alliance Saratoga-class cruiser ship of the same name that David E. Anderson had once commanded, the Munich was assigned to the Sixth Fleet under Admiral Del Toro, and as part of its new role in the Sixth Fleet, the Munich would commonly be assigned to joint-patrols with getho-quarian vessels. The Munich took part in a brief Dominion crackdown on piracy within its getho-quarian territories in 2248 CE, with the ship's "Aleph" blinker device being used to great effect in taking pirates by surprise and destroying their ships with ease. On 2251 CE, the Munich was used to transport Dominion dignataries, including Dominion spectre Jessica Alenko to Rannoch, where the ship would hang in low orbit in a Coalition bid to impress their getho-quarian allies, who then allowed the vessel to take place in a classified war games exercise with quarian navy ships near the termination shock of the Tikkun system. Afterward this exercise, the Munich returned to transport the dignataries back to the Citadel before returning to its Sixth Fleet duties. The ship was briefly reassigned to Border Outpost NOVEMBER in late 2251 CE in a Dominion intelligence-gathering operation spearheaded by Prometheus to gather intel on the Galactic Sanctum, but after fears of an invasion were satiated, the Munich was instead diverted back to its patrol duties.

When the Dominion Civil War broke out in late 2252 CE, the Munich and the Sixth Fleet were assigned by the Coalition to assist getho-quarian loyalists in pacifying the insurrection growing on Rannoch, the epicenter of the civil war, with the hope of crushing the rebellion before it spiralled out of control and spread throughout the empire. This however proved to be a vain effort, as many Sixth Fleet vessels simply defected to the separatists, then beginning to call themselves the Dominion Dissident Front, granting them an early naval force from which to fight with. Compounding this issue was festering distrust between the Coalition and the quarians, the latter of which began to believe the Coalition's encroachment on their territory was a precursor to occupation. This, and fear that their homeworld would once again fall into foreign hands, prompted defections on a massive scale in the quarian military, with thousands of military personnel, from the lowly soldier to high-ranking commanders, declaring for the DDF and handing over military equipment, ships, weapons, resources, and more. This wide-scale defection eventually reached the government, with several Rannochian nations seceding from the Republic to join the DDF in insurrection, declaring war on their supranational government. Rebellion turned into armed conflict, and finally all out war as battles erupted across Rannoch, quickly spreading to the rest of getho-quarian space: the final nail in the coffin was that what had begun as geth neutrality escalated to the geth siding with the DDF. The Coalition deployed the full Sixth Fleet to the system, but this only made matters worse as quarian ships defected en masse. But as the Munich was given orders to bombard the quarian city of Phefnuut, which had just declared for the DDF, the majority of the Munich crew refused to follow orders. When the captain ordered his officers to be arrested for treason, most of the crew mutinied, detaining their captain and the rest of the remaining loyalists onboard before seizing control of the ship and joining the DDF. The Munich would fight with the DDF for the rest of the war, and afterwards would be incorporated into the Coalition Navy. The ship itself served until 2374 CE, when it was finally retired and decommissioned.

The ship was named after the city of Munich in the former European Union on Earth.
