Tikkun is a star system located in the Perseus Veil cluster, and is the home system of the quarian and geth species. Contained within the system is the homeworld of the quarian race, Rannoch, and was the centerpiece of early quarian attempts to explore space. During the prothean cycle, the Prothean Empire established a research and observation facility on Kaddi to watch over and run scientific observations on Cezla'ni'bez quarians, where they considered the possibility of uplifting them; however, the Reapers invaded before they could. The Reapers swept through the Tikkun system before leaving, adhering to their rules of not exterminating pre-spaceflight civilizations. Close to fifty thousand years later, the quarian nations of the Annigeh Triple Alliance launched the first Rannochian manned mission to Kaddi in 77 CE, where they discovered the ruins of a prothean facility. In the same year, the Triple Alliance united with the other six quarian nations on the planet to form the Greater Quarian Republic, and established Tikkun as the capital system of their Republic.
Tikkun fell to the geth after the First Morning War in 1896 CE, where it remained under geth control for the next three hundred years until 2186 CE, when the Migrant Fleet invaded the Perseus Veil and attacked Rannoch directly. Following the brief Second Morning War, the geth and quarians signed a peace treaty and formed the Rannochian Coalition together, agreeing to live together. When the Republic of Rannoch was established in 2188 CE to replace it, the geth were made citizens by law. Tikkun has remained under getho-quarian control, even surviving through the Rannochian theater of the Dominion Civil War.
