The 36th Cerberus Commando Platoon (36th CCP) was a Cerberus Special Forces special operations unit attached to the 8th Cerberus Commando Company commanded by Second Lieutenant Michael Howzer. The unit was formed at the Cerberus training facility on Cronos Station in the earliest days of the organization along with the rest of the 3rd Commando Battalion in mid 2158 CE, where it was shortly thereafter assigned to defending operations managed by the science division of Cerberus, acting as escort to scientists part of numerous projects and protecting key laboratories in the Terminus Systems and Attican Traverse. In 2183 CE, the 36th and one of its sister platoons, the 39th, was assigned as escort to Project Totem under Captain Jeremy Reinburg, a Cerberus science project to develop and breed an army of rachni with the help of a salarian scientist on his ship, the MSV Fedele. The project went awry with the intervention of the Normandy Squad, and many members of the 36th were killed during the initial Alliance raid prior to the rachni breaking containment on the ship, where the rest of the 36th were slaughtered by the escaped rachni.
The unit was reformed in early 2184 CE following its destruction at the Fedele incident, assuming its previous operations. In late 2185 CE, the unit was reorganized into a platoon of the White Wind brigade, being renamed the 11th White Wind Platoon.
