Third Fleet was a fleet in the Alliance Navy. By 2183 CE, it was under the command of Fleet Admiral Nitesh Singh from his flagship, the SSV Logan. One of the three original fleets activated when the Alliance Navy was first formed in 2149 CE, the Third Fleet was originally given the mandate of protecting the majority of the civilian expeditionary fleets charged with spreading human civilization through the stars, and its first proper military action was during the First Contact War at the Battle of Charon, and then the Second Battle of Shanxi. After the First Contact War, the fleet was permanently stationed at Sirona and operated along the Alliance-Turian border, initially to monitor turian activity but later, after tensions lifted with the Turian Hierarchy, it shifted to internal security and counter-terrorism. The fleet served briefly during the Skyllian Blitz, but its next major action wouldn't be until the Counter-piracy campaign of 2184 CE, one of the larger Alliance Navy operations ever fielded. The Third Fleet was present at Arcturus Station during the Reaper invasion of Alliance space, where it suffered moderate losses, but was able to withdraw: it would go on to fight in the final battle against Cerberus and the Reapers in September 2186 CE, where it suffered heavy losses, including the death of Admiral Singh himself and the destruction of his flagship. With the dissolution of the Alliance in 2191 CE, it was renamed Coalition Third Fleet.
