The Cobra pistol was a burst-fire heat sink-based block-fed heavy pistol manufactured by Hahne-Kedar Shadow Works. Manufactured and entering service in 2175 CE, the Cobra pistol was designed for use by the Systems Alliance Armed Forces, namely their top special forces units. While the weapon's accuracy was moderate at best, its stopping power was decent and it could penetrate most mid-range armor on the market, and proved extremely effective against armors worn by batarian troops in the Skyllian Blitz. Largely used by the Black Jackals, Crimson Vampires, N7 and Blue Falcons, the Cobra pistol was considered the special forces pistol of the Alliance military, utilized only by the best operatives. The weapon was, in design, succeeded by the M-3 Predator following the introduction of thermal clips in 2184 CE, which replaced block-fed weapons wholesale across the entire galaxy following the Battle of the Citadel. After this transition, the Cobra was replaced by the M-11 Suppressor, M-77 Paladin and the N7 Eagle in service with Alliance special forces units.
