The Chameleon omni-tool, also simply known as the Chameleon, was an omni-tool model manufactured by Sirta Foundation. Manufactured and entering service in 2164 CE, the Chameleon was a dedicated medical grade omni-tool meant for use by hospitals, combat medics and clinics. Being a market competitor with the salarian-made Rapture, the Chameleon quickly proved itself the superior medical omni-tool due to Sirta's own invention of medi-gel, where the Chameleon was designed to utilize medi-gel for faster deployment and application and ease of use by doctors and nurses who weren't particularly tech savvy. The Chameleon took the galaxy by storm with its effectiveness in this field, with the Chameleon being bought by almost every major hospital and med clinic in the galaxy, becoming the standard issue omni-tool of any doctor and nurse, and even finding its way into most militaries as the go-to omni-tool of combat medics. Being a medical omni-tool, the Chameleon specialized in diagnosis applications, x-ray functionality, medical statistics and quick application of medi-gel. Being the superior medical grade omni-tool, the Chameleon easily outcompeted the Rapture, which evaporated into obscurity in just a few years of the Chameleon becoming available, only being used by the common public who couldn't afford to personally own the Chameleon. Support for the omni-tool would continue until 2220 CE, with manufacture of the omni-tool discontinuing in the same year as Sirta released its successor, the Chameleon II.
