The Tsunami assault rifle was a semi-automatic heat sink-based block-fed assault rifle manufactured by Ariake Technologies. Manufactured and entering service in 2166 CE, the Tsunami assault rifle was an inexpensive assault rifle designed for military and PMC use, finding service within the Systems Alliance Marine Corps and becoming the workhorse of the Blue Suns in their early days. The weapon could fire in three round bursts semi-automatic, although its accuracy was very poor at longer ranges and the rifle was meant for close quarter engagements and to be used in burst fire: despite this, the weapon could fire longer bursts for a longer period of time before overheating. The weapon was, in design, succeeded by the M-15 Vindicator following the introduction of the thermal clip in 2184 CE, which replaced all block-fed weapons wholesale across the entire galaxy following the Battle of the Citadel. No direct successor to the Tsunami rifle exists, although Elkoss Combine would ultimately develop the M-8 Avenger, which would go on to become the standard issue service rifle for the Alliance marines.
