- "The standard foot soldier of any geth army, troopers are based off the first geth. Unlike their predecessors though, they sport combat chasing, enhanced battle systems and tactical/strategic algorithms. A far cry from their more primitive ancestors, these troopers are quick thinkers in big groups, able to adapt to any combat scenario and out think even the most skilled of STG operatives. However, alone and isolated, they are no smarter than a varren, leaving them tactically vulnerable. They can wield a variety of weapons, including rocket launchers and pulse rifles."

The Trooper-class combat platform, also known as the Geth Trooper colloquially, is a subclass of the geth consensus, and the most common variant. Smaller than a destroyer, the trooper is the most common subclass of geth platform and the most manufactured, with the trooper-class serving as the bulk of the Geth Army and Geth Heretic Army. Armed with a pulse rifle and/or plasma SMG, the trooper possesses strong kinetic barriers and its size allows it to move with a mobility that its larger counterparts cannot. It, along with the geth prime, was also one of original geth to be manufactured prior to the First Morning War.
Three variants of the trooper model exist: the standard trooper, the shock trooper and the rocket trooper. The standard model is usually black or grey, while the shock trooper has white armor and the rocket trooper red armor: however, this can change depending on the geth. Standard troopers and shock troopers use pulse rifles and SMGs, while rocket troopers use geth missile launchers. However, due to a lack of access to geth equipment post-Eden Prime War, more and more geth heretic rocket troopers were observed using ML-77 Dory missile launchers. Also, due to the massive military-wide changes across the Geth Army and Geth Navy that began in late 2183 CE, and concluded in 2186 CE, the geth learnt from the mistakes learnt during the Eden Prime War, making improvements based on the failures and successes of their heretic rivals. This involved the severe demotion of the role of the shock trooper, and by 2186 CE, the shock trooper had been largely replaced by the trooper, with the standard trooper being upgraded to fullfill the same role, while rocket troopers were upgraded to be more multi-role. This shift affected all geth subclasses, seeing the creation of new subclasses, while also removing old, obsolete ones. As such, only the trooper and rocket trooper continued to be used by 2200 CE.
