The Tornado shotgun was a pump-action heat sink-based block-fed heavy shotgun manufactured by Haliat Armory. anufactured and entering service in 2146 CE, the Tornado shotgun was designed with high quality materials to be made available at affordable prices, intended for use in home defense, civilian use and for security and mercenary contractors. The Tornado shotgun is unusual in this respect, as it boasts firepower far ahead of what would be normally considered a "home defense" weapon, capable of penetration of medium to heavy armor and good accuracy to boot, although its massive recoil makes the weapon difficult to manage for the untrained. The weapon was, in design, succeeded by the M-27 Scimitar following the introduction of thermal clips in 2184 CE, which replaced block-fed weapons across the entire galaxy following the Battle of the Citadel. No direct successor to the Tornado shotgun exists, with Haliat Armory shifting completely to the manufacture of armors and weapon mods.
