"There are no good memories to be associated with Torfan...not even the Alliance wants anything to do with it. After the Blitz...everybody just sorta forgot about it. The batarians didn't try to recolonize it, and the Alliance didn't keep a permanent presence on it. Today, Torfan is just an empty reminder of the pointless struggle we fought just to kill an aged institution."
Marcus Shepard.

Torfan is the fourth planet in the Riflar system of the Uifa'ar Nebula and was a Hegemony colony world. During the Skyllian Blitz, the planet came under siege from the Systems Alliance, where they took the planet during the First Battle of Torfan. The batarians attempted to destroy an important pipeline on the planet during the Second Battle of Torfan, but were repulsed. Since the end of the Blitz, the Alliance has not attempted to set up a permanent military presence on the planet and have since abandoned it, and the Hegemony has not made efforts to recolonize. As a result, Torfan remained abandoned for many years, its many empty forts and facilities left as a testament to the blood shed on its surface. The Systems Coalition briefly held a conference between the defeated parties of the Second Batarian Civil War on Torfan after the conflict, hoping its familiar surroundings would force a compromise. After the Dominion Civil War, Torfan was resettled by the Third Batarian Republic, and has remained one of their most populous worlds in the centuries since.
