The Thunder assault rifle was a semi-automatic heat sink-based block-fed assault rifle manufactured by Haliat Armory. Manufactured and entering service in 2167 CE, the Thunder assault rifle was designed with high quality materials to be made available at affordable prices, intended for use in home defense, civilian use and for security and mercenary contractors. The Thunder assault rifle boasted mediocre accuracy but high penetration, punching through medium to heavy armor and kinetic barriers with quick, precise shots fired over single shot intervals, but with the capacity for semi-automatic fire in a hurry. The weapon was, in design, succeeded by the M-15 Vindicator following the introduction of thermal clips in 2184 CE, which replaced block-fed weapons across the entire galaxy following the Battle of the Citadel. No direct successor to the Thunder assault rifle exists, with Haliat Armory shifting completely to the manufacture of armors and weapon mods.
