THS Servitude of Courage was a Emperor-class heavy cruiser in the Navy of Palaven and Citadel Defense Fleet. The five hundred and twenty-first ship of her class to be built, the Servitude of Courage was originally assigned to the Twelfth Fleet under Prefect Septimus Oraka, where it served with the Twelfth Fleet for sixty years before being reassigned to the Citadel Defense Fleet, where it spent the rest of its career. The Servitude of Courage spent most of its time in the CDF patrolling the Widow relay, enforcing customs regulations, monitoring traffic and/or running blockade against criminal ships attempting to escape C-Sec. On 19 July 2183 CE, the Servitude of Courage took part in the Battle of the Citadel when a massive geth heretic fleet, spearheaded by the Reaper Sovereign, launched a surprise attack on the Citadel with the aim of taking it. The Servitude of Courage survived the initial surprise attack, and rushed to defend the Destiny Ascension as it attempted to get the Citadel Council to safety. When a geth battleship managed to destroy the Approacher and Predator, the Servitude of Courage boldly broke formation and launched a heavy assault on the battleship, unloading its remaining arsenal of missiles, torpedoes and MAC rounds into the battleship, stripping the geth ship's powerful shields and dealing heavy damage to the vessel: despite this, the geth battleship managed to remain combat effective, and began charging its Titanhammer main weapon, with the aim of hitting the Ascension. Acting quickly, the captain ordered ramming speed, and the Servitude of Courage slammed into the battleship at full speed, the impact obliterating the turian cruiser upon impact, but also having the added impact of shattering the geth ship's already damaged keel, splitting it in half and finally destroying the battleship. The sacrifice of the Servitude of Courage and its crew are noted on the Heroes of the Citadel monument, along with the other CDF ships destroyed protecting the Citadel.
