THS Pale Charge was a Emperor-class heavy cruiser in the Navy of Palaven and Citadel Defense Fleet. The hundred and eighty-fourth ship of her class to be built, the Pale Charge was originally assigned to the Eighth Fleet under Prefect Marcelius Natadas, where it served with the Eighth Fleet for ninety-two years before being reassigned to the Citadel Defense Fleet, where it spent the rest of its career. The Pale Charge spent most of its time in the CDF patrolling the Widow relay, enforcing customs regulations, monitoring traffic and/or running blockade against criminal ships attempting to escape C-Sec. On 19 July 2183 CE, the Pale Charge took part in the Battle of the Citadel when a massive geth heretic fleet, spearheaded by the Reaper Sovereign, launched a surprise attack on the Citadel with the aim of taking it. The Pale Charge suffered minor damage during the initial surprise attack, but despite its wounds, the ship was quickly able to rally its smaller escorts behind it, including a pocket of salarian frigates, and quickly formed a defensive arrowhead formation in front of the station, aiming to deny geth ships access to the station by any means necessary. While the Pale Charge bravely led the defense, managing to knock out half a dozen geth frigates and at least four light cruisers, the Pale Charge's similar efforts at halting Sovereign were in vain, with the Reaper shrugging off every shot fired at it and blowing past the heavy cruiser, only extending one of its legs far enough so that it impacted the Pale Charge and tore it apart upon contact. The sacrifice of the Pale Charge and its crew are noted on the Heroes of the Citadel monument, along with the other CDF ships destroyed protecting the Citadel.
