THS Iron Conviction was a Vanguard-class dreadnought in the Navy of Palaven and Citadel Defense Fleet. It was one of the last Vanguard-class ships to be commissioned by the turian navy, with its construction completed by 2137 CE. The ship never saw action during the First Contact War, but shortly afterwards was assigned to the Citadel Defense Fleet to replace the older salarian dreadnought SUV Moondiamond, and was one of only two dreadnoughts in the CDF, alongside the ARW Destiny Ascension. The ship by then was commanded by Ulik Gagas.

The ship was incredibly obsolete by 2183 CE, but the Vanguard-class was still considered far too reliable to be decommissioned by the turians. This would prove to be the case during the Battle of the Citadel in 2183 CE, where the Iron Conviction and its escorts held off an entire battlegroup of the Fleet of the Herald by itself, before it was finally destroyed by Sovereign. The sacrifice of the Iron Conviction and its crew are noted on the Heroes of the Citadel monument, along with the other CDF ships destroyed protecting the Citadel.

The ship was named for the "iron conviction" of the turian Ethos of the Legion, which is said to be "tougher than steel, and more timeless than any galaxy."
