THS Fortified Solace was a Century-class light cruiser in the Navy of Palaven and Citadel Defense Fleet. The two hundred and fourty-third ship of her class to be built, the Fortified Solace was originally assigned to the Second Fleet under Prefect Bantia Rameseus. The Fortified Solace served with the Second Fleet for half of its lifespan, and would be present during the Enael conflict, where it and its task force deployed turian marines to hold a strategically important valley against batarian slaver forces on the ground, while the ship itself managed to engage and destroy three slaver ships attempting to break through the Council blockade, while crippling two more and personally boarding another. Following the Enael conflict, the Fortified Solace would be reassigned to the Citadel Defense Fleet, where it spent the rest of its career. The Fortified Solace spent most of its time in the CDF either patrolling the Widow system, enforcing customs regulations, monitoring traffic and/or running blockade against criminal ships attempting to escape C-Sec.
On 19 July 2183 CE, the Fortified Solace took part in the Battle of the Citadel when a massive geth heretic fleet, spearheaded by the Reaper Sovereign, launched a surprise attack on the Citadel with the aim of taking it. The Fortified Solace managed to survive the initial attack, and quickly rushed to defend the Destiny Ascension as it attempted to get the Citadel Council to safety. The Fortified Solace would eventually be picked apart and destroyed by geth fighter squadrons and capital ships picking away at the asari dreadnought's defenses, but it managed to protect the dreadnought long enough for Alliance reinforcements to arrive and destroy the remaining geth fleet. The sacrifice of the Fortified Solace and its crew are noted on the Heroes of the Citadel monument, along with the other CDF ships destroyed protecting the Citadel.
