Super Husk is a type of husk rarely employed by the Reapers as a form of field commander. Unlike the average husk, super husks do not go through the same process of huskification that other husks do; others are transformed through impalement on a dragon's tooth, while super husks are transformed through a modified signal designed to trigger pre-injected cybernetics, aggravating them to the point of growing, expanding and multiplying, until they end up transforming the husk from the inside out; the result creates a much more aggressive husk, controlled directly by the Reaper that birthed it, and far more powerful and nimble. However, super husks are rarely ever employed, because when they are used, it requires the Reaper to divert power and systems to controlling the husk, as well as powering it. So while this allows the Reaper to control the husk, therefore making it more intelligent and dangerous, it also means that if the husk dies, the feedback signal will be enough to disorient the Reaper, crippling it long enough for it to be destroyed; because of this, super husks are rarely, if ever, deployed. The last known case of a super husk was Saren Arterius, who Sovereign took control of to stop Shepard during the Battle of the Citadel.

Harbinger reportedly had been grooming the Illusive Man to be used as super husk to stop Marcus L. Shepard as a last ditch measure during the Reaper War, but the Illusive Man was killed before the process could be completed. The only mass deployment of super husks was during the Battle of Istenford during the Reaper war with the Inusannon, deployed due to the enormous casualties their ground forces were being subjected to. The super husks overwhelmed the Inusannon positions, and were not used since then.
