The Storm shotgun was a pump-action/semi-automatic heat sink-based block-fed shotgun manufactured by Hahne-Kedar Solutions. Manufactured and entering service in 2157 CE, the Storm shotgun was designed to be used in both the Systems Alliance Army and Systems Alliance Marine Corps as a supplementary system to the Katana shotgun, possessing decent stopping power, good accuracy and moderate firepower. Unlike its Katana counterpart, the Storm could fire at a much higher rate of fire, but with this came a sacrifice to accuracy and recoil, which could become uncontrollable if fired rapidly as the weapon is designed to allow. Coming in halfway through the First Contact War, the Storm shotgun was too late to demonstrate its proficiency in combat, although it would be given a second chance in the Skyllian Blitz: by this point however it was already being phased out in favor of the Firestorm shotgun system. Despite the Alliance's cancelled contract, Hahne-Kedar continued to produce the Storm for the wider galaxy, where it found use amongst criminal groups and terrorist organizations, with Cerberus briefly equipping their commandos with them before developing their own Hydra model to replace it.

Despite not being a direct successor and baring the name of the Katana shotgun, the M-23 Katana's design is more closely inspired by the Storm. Regardless, Hahne-Kedar never built a replacement for the Storm, having almost entirely transitioned into the manufacture of mechanized infantry forces, with their premiere RAGNAROK-series of mechs used across the galaxy.
