- "We hate the machines. We will fight for our unborn children! For the promise of a new rachni species! Our numbers will swarm the stars, silencing the sour notes! RELEASE US, AND THE SOUR NOTES SHALL TREMBLE!"
- — Singer of the New Dawn
Singer of the New Dawn was a rachni queen and the first Starsinger of the Second Rachni Collective from 2186 CE to 2301 CE. Left in stasis on a derelict rachni vessel by the First Rachni Collective as a contingency to preserve their species following the Rachni Wars, New Dawn's egg was hatched over a thousand years later by Binary Helix in 2180 CE and, on the orders of Saren Arterius, was forced to begin breeding a rachni army for the Saren's Alliance. Because of her children being separated, these rachni were uncontrollable and went insane, leading to a containment breach and Peak 15 being overrun. New Dawn was freed by Commander Shepard on the promise the rachni would never return. New Dawn then took a Binary Helix transport to Utukku and began breeding, hoping to reform the rachni species to aid Shepard in defeating the Reapers when they returned. During the Reaper War, her hive was discovered and subjugated, her children turned into Reaper foot soldiers and the queen imprisoned. She was once again freed by Shepard during a subsequent raid, and she joined the UGC, breeding a new army and forming the Second Rachni Collective, with New Dawn as its first Starsinger.
Following the Reaper War, New Dawn chose Trebin as the new rachni homeworld, and founded the Core of Symphony. She later led the rachni during the Second War for Heshtok, and then joined the DDF during the Dominion Civil War. She later passed away in 2301 CE, and was succeeded by the new Starsinger, Singer of Harmony.
