The Scorpion light combat armor was a ceramic-based protective light combat armor manufactured by Hahne-Kedar Solutions. Manufactured and entering service in 2171 CE, the Scorpion armor was contracted to be used by the Systems Alliance Colonial Army as an auxiliary armor system to the Phoenix armor, with the Scorpion armor intended to be used more by the colonial guardsmen of the Alliance's outer colonies than on the inner colonies, but this didn't end up coming to fruition as the Alliance cancelled their order of Scorpion armors as improved supply chains allowed more and more colonial guardsman to be outfitted with the HYPERION-82, rendering the Phoenix armor gradually more and more redundant, and access to Scorpion armor unnecessary. This ultimately led Hahne-Kedar to sell their stock of Scorpion armor to the wider public, selling to interested PMCs and security contractors across the galaxy: this ultimately led to a variant being built for use by turians as well, widening their potential audience of Scorpion customers. The Scorpion enjoyed limited success here, but as a light armor and with the asking price it possessed, this ultimately hindered whatever popularity it might have had. Being light armor, it had low damage protection and was outfitted with somewhat weak kinetic barriers, but was extremely flexible and lightweight. The Scorpion armor was finally phased out by 2184 CE, having been fully replaced by the HYPERION-82 within the Alliance, and by the Stormtrooper armor amongst mercenaries.
