The Savant omni-tool, also simply known as the Savant, was an omni-tool model manufactured by Serrice Council. Manufactured and entering service in 1812 CE, the Savant was a high-end military-grade omni-tool meant for use by combat engineers, repair technicians, medics, standard infantry and special forces operators. Replacing the Maiden previously made by Serrice Council and serving as a market competitor to the Chaos made by Sulban Techland, the Savant was a top-of-the-line military-grade omni-tool contracted to be sold to the Council militaries as their standard issue combat omni-tool that had a wide array of functions that maximized it in this role including offensive and defensive tech attack applications, optimization for quick decryption algorithms and compatibility with a variety of encrypted communication frequencies. Roughly considered to be on par with the Chaos omni-tool, the Savant excelled in that it could be modified by its user, and thus every government had its own version of the Savant that performed differently based on the assigned role it was given. The powerful CPU and processing power it came with made it expensive, and as such it was only ever sold to Council militaries, although this expanded to include the Systems Alliance in 2165 CE. Cerberus was able to gain access to the Savant through black market deals and, through Cerberus Skunkworks, were able to build their own Savants for use by their commandos. Support for the omni-tool would continue until 2215 CE, with manufacture of the omni-tool discontinuing in the same year due to the collapse of the Asari Republics and the dissolution of Serrice Council. The Galactic Dominion by this point had replaced the Savant with their homegrown Infinite, and this effectively replaced the Savant upon its discontinuation.
