SSV Perugia AS-26 (Attack/Support-26) was a Saratoga-class light cruiser in the Alliance Navy. The twenty-sixth ship of the class to be built, the Perugia was assigned to the Third Fleet under Admiral Nitesh Singh before the First Contact War, and then reassigned to the Fifth Fleet under Admiral Steven Hackett following its establishment after the war. The Perugia was one of the initial thirty Saratoga-class ships built following the formation of the Systems Alliance in 2149 CE, and one of the first ships to make up the then-newly formed Third Fleet. The Perugia escorted over a dozen colonial expeditions that were funded by Earth's nations and the Alliance prior to first contact with the turians, and when word reached Earth of the disastrous first contact at Relay 314, the Perugia, along with every other Alliance warship, was immediately recalled. The Perugia fought at the Battle of Charon and the subsequent Second Battle of Shanxi, managing to survive the First Contact War. Like all other Saratoga-class ships, the Perugia went through minor upgrades after the war in an attempt to modernize it, and shortly after returning to active service, it was transferred to the then-newly formed Fifth Fleet under Admiral Hackett: around this time the ship's captain was also promoted to Rear Admiral, and it was assigned a new captain in their stead, along with at least half of its crew being replaced. In its new posting, the Perugia would participate in the Skyllian Blitz, taking part in the Battle of the Dhopris System: it was also deployed as a reserve force during the Theshaca Raids to support the elements of the Fifth Fleet dedicated to countering pirate operations in the sector, but it was never needed and sat out the operation largely inactive.

During the Eden Prime War, the Perugia would be present at the Battle of Armstrong and Battle of the Citadel, again surviving both battles. One of the ship's engineers, Petty Officer 3rd Class Kenneth Donnelly was suspended from duty with pay for vocally calling out the Alliance for what he perceived as their abandonment of Commander Shepard and their political cowardice in backsliding on their promises to unite against the Reaper threat, which both the Alliance and Council quickly dismissed as myth following Shepard's death a month after the Eden Prime War: when he was suspended from duty, Kenneth then accused them of "trying to shut (him) up". A few months later, Kenneth formally resigned from the Alliance on the same day that fellow Perugia engineer Gabriella Daniels also resigned, both of them to join Cerberus. They were subsequently replaced. In 2186 CE, the Perugia was present at Earth with the rest of the Fifth Fleet when the Reapers began their invasion. The Perugia survived the Fall of Earth, serving with the fleet throughout every theater of the Reaper War that the Fifth Fleet was involved in. The ship was destroyed at the Battle of Anadius, lost during battle with the the Cerberus Ninth Fleet.

The ship was named after the city of Perugia in the former European Union on Earth.
