SSV Lincoln CD-1 (Carry and Deploy-1) was a Lincoln-class escort carrier in the Alliance Navy. The head of its class, the Lincoln was assigned to the Second Fleet under Admiral Kastanie Drescher not long after it was commissioned in late 2165 CE. The Lincoln was to spearhead one of three new classes of carriers being built for the Alliance following the unexpected success of the Columbus-class vessels against the turians in the First Contact War: due to the exclusivity of carriers in warfare, and their effectiveness against dreadnoughts, the Alliance wished to capitalize on their success by making them the key to their naval might. In comparison to the more expensive Nelson-class and the massive Charles de Gaulle-class, the Lincoln-class was the cheaper and smaller equivalent, serving as the backbone of their new carrier fleet: this however meant that the Lincoln was less sophisticated and ultramodern than the Nelson and Charles de Gaulle, and drawbacks included lighter armor, smaller aircraft compliments, and more. Despite this, the Lincoln itself proved itself to be a very reliable vessel, and its performance during the Skyllian Blitz was considered exemplary, helping to support the larger carrier variants in the Second Fleet while also standing adequately on its own. Out of every Lincoln-class vessel in the Second Fleet, the Lincoln had deployed the most sorties. The Lincoln wouldn't see action during the Eden Prime War, and would be relegated to patrol duty between 2177 CE and 2186 CE. On the 2 June 2186 CE, the Lincoln would be recalled to Earth with the rest of the Second Fleet to support the Fourth and Fifth fleets in their defense of the planet during the initial stages of the Reaper invasion.

The Lincoln and the other carrier groups of the Second Fleet were deployed in Drescher's trademark fashion, quickly deployed in the fleet's vanguard to bog down the enemy forces with fighter and bomber sorties, buying the rest of the fleet time to swiftly close ranks and smash the enemy force in one fell swoop: this tactic, known as Drescher's Sweep, earned her the nickname of "German Alexander", as it closely resembled the bold, decisive and swift tactics that Alexander the Great was known for using during his military campaigns. Unfortunately, as Drescher was also known for, the admiral ignored her subordinates and Hackett's orders to hold formation, deciding to avenge the loss of Arcturus Station just as she had avenged the Relay 314 massacre back during the First Contact War, her philosophy of "taking the initiative" taking hold over any advice of caution. Drescher's preference to be constantly on the offensive dictated her actions during the war, and anywhere else they may have been successful, but the Reapers were not that kind of foe. Having committed all of her carriers to her vanguard, Drescher realized too late that the Reapers weren't going to be bogged down by fighter and bomber swarms, and that they simply shoved past them and shot straight for Drescher's carrier groups. Drescher had the sense to order her carriers to pull back once she saw what was happening, hoping to preserve a portion of her carriers so that they could be deployed further to the rear to harass any Reaper attempt to land on Earth. This only preserved a portion of her carriers though, with the majority being wiped out, along with their escorts: the Lincoln was one of the many carriers to survive the initial assault, but would ultimately, along with the rest of the Second Fleet, sacrifice itself to distract the Reapers long enough for the remnants of the Fourth and Fifth fleets to retreat, with Drescher brilliantly tricking the Reapers into believing nuclear missile silos were present on Luna by feigning a feigned withdrawal to the other side of the moon in order to "lure the Reapers within range of the missiles." Accurately predicting the Reapers would not only fall for it, but ultimately not care, Drescher was able to lure away a large portion of the Reaper forces, which broke off to pursue the Second Fleet towards Luna, the Reaper ships bombarding the surface of the moon from orbit and then proceeding to attack the fleet. During this conclusive engagement, the Lincoln was cleaved in half by a squadron of 17 Destroyer-class Reapers.

The ship was named after Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States of America from 1861 CE to 1865 CE who was famously known for the Emancipation Proclomation and as the wartime leader of the US during the First American Civil War. He was also one of only four US presidents who were assassinated.
