SSV Beijing LD-7 (Light Defense-7) was a Warsaw-class light frigate in the Alliance Navy. The seventh ship of the class to be built, the Beijing was assigned to the Fifth Fleet under Admiral Steven Hackett. The Beijing would see action during the Skyllian Blitz, where it participated in the Battle of the Dhopris System, and would also later be deployed to take part in the Theshaca Raids, with the Beijing taking part in eighteen separate surprise raids on pirate ships operating in the area, seizing millions of tonnes of stolen merchant cargo and freeing 24,000 slaves from captured slaver vessels, one of the most successful hauls of the entire Theshaca campaign. Crew members of the Beijing were involved in an altercation on the Citadel involving a group of C-Sec officers whilst on shore leave in 2180 CE, with both sides being thoroughly reprimanded and a quartermaster permanently relieved of duty. Much of the crew on the frigate were Terra Firma supporters, and comments made by the crew supports the C-Sec officers are believed to have triggered the brawl, although it is unknown exactly what was said.
In 2183 CE, after the outbreak of the Eden Prime War, the Beijing would be present at the Battle of Armstrong, where it performed admirably whilst under heavy fire, managing to, against all odds, disable a geth battleship with its meagre armament, although suffering severe damage to its starboard side in the process and incurring numerous hull breaches. The Beijing was towed back to the Sol system, where it spent the next two weeks undergoing repairs at the Repair Yards over Mars. The ship was still undergoing repairs when Hackett distributed emergency orders to his fleet on the 19 July, ordering his fleet to mobilize and make best speed for the Citadel: this included the Beijing, which effectively drifted out of dock before all the dockworkers had time to depart the ship, resulting in a few being forced to accompany the crew of the ship temporarily as it headed for the Citadel. The Beijing was part of the first wave of Alliance reinforcements at the Battle of the Citadel, helping to destroy the geth heretic fleet and saving the ARW Destiny Ascension: unfortunately, the ship was one of many destroyed by Sovereign, being lost with all hands due to the ferocity of the Reaper's devastating defenses. The sacrifice of the Beijing and her crew is noted on the Heroes of the Citadel monument, along with other ships of the Fifth Fleet that were destroyed saving the Citadel.
The ship was named after the Battle of Beijing in 1644 during the Manchu unification of China.
