The Razer pistol was a burst-fire heat sink-based block-fed light pistol manufactured by Kassa Fabrication. Manufactured and entering service in 2163 CE, the Razer pistol was a mid-range pistol meant for use by a wide array of mercenary companies and security corporations, and also saw a limited service life in the Systems Alliance Army before it was ditched in favor of keeping the Karpov pistol, which was considered a workhorse of the Army ever since its introduction in 2161 CE. Whilst not highly inaccurate, the weapon's recoil dampening system was of lower quality than other pistols on the market, and weapon stability was difficult to manage even with the necessary training. Bullet spread was manageable, but for what the Army required out of the weapon, it was seen as an unnecessary side piece to the Karpov, and they eventually cancelled their contract with Kassa altogether, leading to Kassa selling the weapon entirely to security contractors and PMCs and, eventually, the public. The weapon was, in design, succeeded by the M-3 Predator following the introduction of the thermal clip in 2184 CE, which replaced block-fed weapons wholesale across the entire galaxy following the Battle of the Citadel. No direct successor to the Razer exists, with Kassa specializing in entirely in armor rather than weapons, with the exception of their famous M-12 Locust.
