The Rage-class heavy battle armor was a ceramic-based, and later steel-plate, protective heavy battle armor manufactured by the Forges of Weyrloc. Manufactured and entering service in 432 CE, the Rage-class armor was designed for use by the Tuchankan Imperial Forces within their special operations groups and by krogan shock troops. The Rage-class was inspired by krogan armor used by Clan Weyrloc during the Neverending Night, with Clan Weyrloc largely using the armor as a template to build the new Rage-class from, improving upon it using modern technology such as kinetic barriers, ceramic-plating, onboard computer and more. The Rage-class also incorporated semi-powered hydraulics, increasing a krogan user's strength, which is already considerable, allowing them to punch through solid concrete effortlessly, lift heavy obstacles, and wield bulky weapons such as the krogan warhammer. The Rage-class saw extensive service during the Krogan Rebellions, where production thereafter was ceased permanently following the krogan's demilitarization and the dissolution of the Forges of Weyrloc. Hundreds of thousands of Rage-class armors remained in the wild however, with the krogan largely allowed to keep them, where they either ended up being used during the Krogan Civil Wars or by krogan mercenaries and bounty hunters. The Rage-class armor would become the staple armor of many krogan warlords, and was used extensively by the krogan who made up the Blood Pack. Following the revolution in armor design in 2184 CE, existing Rage-class platforms were further upgraded with the newer steel-plating design, beginning a small-scale modernization process. Despite this, the Rage-class was over a millenia old and had already begun to show its age, unable to compete with the newer armors it occupied the battle space with.
Following the Reaper War, many Rage-class armors continued to exist, but the new krogan military quickly sought to replace the now obsolete, aging armor system, and by 2190 CE, the Rage-class was effectively replaced by the Primordial-class. What remaining Rage-class armors still existed in the wider galaxy were quickly disposed of, with few remaining examples, especially with the Blood Pack later dissolved upon its merging with Red Sky.
