Rachni hiveship, classified by the Turian Hierarchy as a Rachni cruiser, is a form of rachni warship. Not conventional by any means, the vessel possesses a mixture of organic and metal superstructure, making it unusually formidable against enemy weapons, even MAC guns. The vessel was used by the rachni heavily during the Rachni Wars, holding huge superiority against the asari and salarian cruisers. Almost every single hiveship was destroyed after the Wars, with the Council systematically rounding them up and destroying them. They captured and tried to disassemble them to figure out how they worked, but found that the rachni systems were impossible to interact with. The only known documentation of a rachni hiveship by 2183 CE was one found near Noveria that lay dormant, sent out by the rachni near the end of the Wars in a last resort attempt to save their race from extinction. By the end of the Reaper War, the Second Rachni Collective fielded at least 66 new hiveships, and by the time of the Post-Apocalyptic War, the number reached 167, making up the bulk of the new rachni fleet.
