RNS Blood Horizon, later renamed the UMWS Blood Horizon during its service in the UGN, was an Archangel-class battleship in the Rannoch Republican Navy and later the Unified Galactic Navy. The eighth ship of its class to be built, the Blood Horizon was purchased by the Republic of Rannoch in 2227 CE as per the Dominion Strategic and Tactical Arms Exchange introduced after the Post-Apocalyptic War, and it would would soon enter service in the Maginot Armada as its chosen flagship, placed under the command of Imperial Admiral Xerxes after transferring from his previous command, the dreadnought Rannoch's Retribution. The Blood Horizon, as per its duties to defend the Maginot Line, would extensively participate in Operation Silent Zealot during the Terra-Rannochian War, clashing with several Covenant forces in numerous fleet actions, conducting orbital strikes during the Zorya Rainforest Wars, providing in-atmosphere air support and resupply during the Second Battle of Zada Ban, and destroying six Covenant cruisers on its own at the Battle of Gellix, as well as crippling and almost capturing a Covenant carrier at the Battle of the Asteroids before it was counterattacked by a Covenant cruiser task force, leading it being forced to retreat. The vessel would suffer critical damage during the Battle of the Echoes in 2248 CE, being successfully caught in a Covenant trap, but due to cover fire from its Dominion escorts, was able to escape the ambush, returning to the Maginot Line where it would spend three months undergoing repairs, including another two months as the ship underwent a series of refits occurring to all Archangel-class battleships to improve its sensor, shield and weapon systems before finally returning to active service in early 2249 CE. Blood Horizon would proceed to avenge its defeat one month later during the Battle of Horphon (also known as the "Horphon Blitz" or "Erinle Blitz"), leading a small task force of ships into the atmosphere of the Covenant-controlled world of Erinle at night, with the task force moving in at low power to evade detection and dispersing to attack several surface assets. The Blood Horizon itself, too large for such an operation, remained in orbit and once the task force had neutralized the Covenant's ground-based sensor array and planetary defenses, the Blood Horizon launched a surprise attack on the Covenant shipyard in orbit, destroying several cruisers and dreadnoughts that were either being built or refitted, and leaving the shipyard severely damaged: it then skirmished with a Covenant patrol before hitting and destroying a refuel depot nearby. The Blood Horizon then engaged in a fighting withdrawal as it was chased by a Covenant battleship and three destroyers, managing to score a single devastating hit on one of the destroyer escorts that caused a massive explosion that temporarily blinded the Covenant sensors and allowed the Blood Horizon to safely withdraw, making the battle one of the Blood Horizon's most successful naval actions of Operation Silent Zealot.
When the Dominion Civil War broke out in late 2252 CE, the Blood Horizon remained at its post, and would participate in the Battle of the Maginot Line, suffering only light damage over the course of the battle and managing to score twelve kills on Covenant capital ships before the Dominion loyalists joined the battle and achieved a breakthrough. Regrouping with the remnants of the Maginot Armada, now just called "Xerxes' fleet", the Blood Horizon would lead this force in joining the Dominion Dissident Front, arriving as late reinforcements to the Battle of the Citadel-Ark, and being present at the final battle over Eos. After the war, Xerxes would retain the Blood Horizon as his flagship, and after some mild refits, largely to remove the ship's Dominion color scheme and repaint it in UGR colors and perform some minor repairs and maintenance, it was made the flagship of the Milky Way 7th Fleet, where it remained until its final decommissioning in 2283 CE, replaced by her successor the Blood Horizon II.
