QMFV Neema was a Zarasis-class light cruiser in the quarian Migrant Fleet, and the last flagship of the Heavy Fleet. Following the First Morning War, the Migrant Fleet was left with just 120 Helisa'Kah-class heavy cruisers and 210 Hesht-class picket cruisers, both of which were too high maintenance and required too many resources to operate, eventually forcing the quarians to scrap all of their Helisa'Kah vessels and redesign their available Hesht-class ships, with the scrap collected from the dismantled Helisa'Kah-class ships used to help the process: the result was the Zarasis-class, of which 330 were built. The Neema itself was a former Hesht-class ship named the NGR Shaesost, and it would serve in the Migrant Fleet's Heavy Fleet for the next 300 years, remaining a workhorse of the Flotilla's dedicated naval forces and remaining one of its most powerful capital ships. The ship was captained by dozens of captains over the centuries, none more famous than Han'Gerrel, who landed command of the vessel in 2147 CE, who would subsequently be the last to command the Neema as well. In 2153 CE, Han'Gerrel joined the Admiralty Board as Admiral of the Heavy Fleet, with the Neema becoming the new flagship of the Heavy Fleet under Gerrel, replacing the Sareh Xivum. As the new flagship of the Migrant Fleet's military, the Neema was raised from just a capital ship to the most important naval asset the quarians had.

In 2183 CE, upon returning from her pilgrimage, Tali'Zorah chose the Neema as her home ship, further raising the Neema's fame as the chosen home of the Migrant Fleet's then-most prestigious war hero owing to her involvement in the Eden Prime War. The Neema would later be used to house a meeting between the Admiralty Board discussing and eventually authorizing an invasion of the Perseus Veil, with the intent of recapturing Rannoch once and for all and ending the quarian-geth conflict. During this attack, the Neema spearheaded the invasion, taking part in the Battle of Haestrom where, using Daro'Xen's powerful anti-geth weaponry, it scored dozens of confirmed kills upon other geth capital ships and smaller craft. The Neema would continue this record right up into the early minutes of the First Battle of Rannoch, before the activation of the Reaper code that allowed the geth to seize the advantage and push the quarians back with heavy casualties. During this battle, the Neema would suffer minor to moderate damage, and at the end of the engagement would join the rest of the Heavy Fleet in piling fire onto the disabled geth flagship and destroying it, prior to the Migrant Fleet's successful withdrawal where it was able to receive repairs. From here, the Neema would coordinate with the rest of the Fleet in retaliatory strikes against surviving geth facilities present around Rannoch, and would once again spearhead the Fleet's combat action during the Liberation of Rannoch. Following the end of the war, the Neema would become the flagship of the entire Rannochian Coalition, commanding all quarian and geth naval assets alike. The ship received numerous upgrades to its armaments, hull armor and shielding courtesy of the geth, further augmenting the cruiser's capabilities beyond its original capacity: the Neema would later participate in the Second War for Omega where it commanded participating quarian-geth UGC forces and, following that, coordinated the Fleet's numerous combat and evacuation operations across other theaters of the Reaper War.

The Neema spearheaded the rest of the Migrant Fleet during the massive UGC assault on Cronos Station at the Battle of Anadius towards the end of the war, and did so once again at the Battle of Sol. Here the Neema sustained significant damage from repeated Reaper assaults, but against all odds, the ship not only survived, but was able to rack up a kill count of 3 Destroyer-class Reapers utilizing pinpoint maneuvers that Han'Gerrel had learned during his time on the gunboat Yaska, with Gerrel personally taking the helm of the Neema to pull off the maneuver. After the war, the Neema would return to Rannoch and continue to lead the nascent quarian-geth navy in the early days of the Republic of Rannoch when it was formed in 2188 CE. The Neema was finally decommissioned in 2192 CE, where it was mothballed until a buyer could be ascertained. When none could be found, the Neema was stripped of its armaments and all useful technology, its bridge was removed and repurposed for a tech academy on Rannoch, its engines repurposed for use in asteroid mining, and the rest of the ship towed to a boneyard for scrapping, which was completed in the same year.

The ship was named after the Battle of Neema of the Krogan Rebellions.
