"First Strike is a waste of resources and time. It has yielded nothing, and gotten us no closer to reclaiming the homeworld. We must face facts. It is time to look for a new world to settle."
— Admiral Zaal'Koris upon his inauguration as admiral.

Operation First Strike (Khelish: Nelaspown Gi'bekni), also known as the Tikkun offensive strategy and Perseus offensives to the quarians, was the three century long quarian campaign to reclaim the Perseus Veil after their devastating defeat in the First Morning War. Following the formal end of hostilities with the geth, the quarian military leadership, prior to the official formation of the Migrant Fleet, immediately formed plans to reclaim their lost worlds. What followed were a series of raids and brief engagements over the course of three hundred years, with varying success on both sides. The operation was meant as a precursor to the eventual Operation Perseus Strike, with First Strike being the preparatory phase. The operation was quickly frowned upon however, and after a hundred years, it quickly became evident the Migrant Fleet lacked the military infrastructure to wage the kind of war that Perseus Strike would eventually require. By 2185 CE, elements of the political movement Pe'geth began campaigning for an end to First Strike.

Regardless of First Strike's operational failure, Perseus Strike would be initiated on 1 July 2186 CE.
