— Navy motto

The Union Navy, also known as the Union Naval Forces and the Salarian Navy to aliens, was the naval warfare service branch of the Union Defense Force, and one of the four uniformed services of the Salarian Union. The navy was founded two months after the creation of the Sur'Kesh state following the ratification of the Charter for the Union of all Salarians. The naval forces were a small series of battlegroups until the creation of the Citadel Council, where their size was tripled and consolidated into an effective fighting force. The Union Navy's role was focused on complimenting the Special Tasks Group, who they acted as ancillary to, providing naval support for their intelligence operations, while also maintaining a large enough force for waging large-scale military operations.

The Union Navy saw extensive action throughout the Rachni Wars and Krogan Rebellions, later participating towards the latter stages of the Reaper War. It fought for the New Council during the Post-Apocalyptic War, before its final destruction and dissolution at the hands of the Galactic Dominion.
