The Navy of the Republics (NOR), also referred to as the Thessian Navy and the Asari Navy to aliens, was the naval service branch of the Armed Forces of the Asari Republics, and one of the four uniformed services of the Asari Republics. The Navy was established in October 726 BCE, mere weeks after the birth of the Thessian Republics themselves, through the United Thessian Naval Forces Creation Act (726) and was composed from members from each of the asari city-state militaries and space programs on both Thessia and its rising planetary colonies. The Navy, along with the Army of the Republics, were the only two branches of the asari military for centuries afterwards, with the Navy initially covering the very role that the Liberty Watch would eventually be established to take over. Despite the ferocity of asari biotics and the renown and fear instilled by their commandos, the Republics' most powerful branch had always been its navy, which was one of the most technologically advanced at the height of asari power, and one of the only Council powers to not field dreadnoughts until 2115 CE with the Ascension-class, as the Asari Navy focused on hit-and-run tactics combined with surgical and manoeuvre warfare to defeat their opponents. To this extent, the Asari Navy preferred fielding fast, nimble frigates, destroyers and cruisers supported by interceptors to enforce their naval policy, prioritizing highly mobile warfare over maintaining static positions and repelling enemy attacks. These tactics proved extremely effective during the Rachni Wars and Krogan Rebellions, but they also meant the Asari Navy was incapable of fulfilling the peacekeeping role the Republics felt it needed to maintain, although this role would eventually be taken up by the more powerful Turian Navy, allowing the Asari Navy to return to a purely defensive branch of the asari military.

The Navy would see only minor action afterwards, the largest conflicts that saw its deployment being the Asari-Vorcha War and Enael conflict, while it spent the rest of the time performing counter-piracy, counter-contraband and border sweeps. It wouldn't be until the Reaper War that the Asari Navy was deployed to the fullest measure of its power, where it take a prominent role in asari military operations concerning the defense of asari colonies and the Fall of Thessia, although it suffered heavy losses throughout these campaigns. Following the war, the Asari Navy found itself unable to adequately rebuild their forces due to the immense losses suffered and the destruction of their shipyards: despite this, it was one of the few branches that was able to recover the fastest by the time of the Post-Apocalyptic War. It was during this war that the Navy of the Republics was met with some early succeses in conjunction with their turian and salarian allies, and when they began to lose ships they couldn't replace easily, they were bolstered by ships from the hanar, elcor and volus navies to make up the difference. Despite all of this, the Navy of the Republics was eventually worn down, suffering defeat after defeat, each one more devastating than the last as the Galactic Dominion countered asari tactics and dealt them heavy losses. By the time the Dominion finally broke through to Thessia and glassed its surface in nuclear hellfire, the Navy of the Republics was only a couple of fleets, both of which were greatly reduced in strength and soon surrendered with the rest of the asari forces once news of Thessia's fate reached them and they accepted the hopeless situation. The surviving asari ships were rounded up and scrapped, and after the formal surrender of the Thessian Republics, the Navy of the Republics was dissolved. It would later be reborn in the form of the Thessian Navy after the Dominion Civil War, just under forty years later.
