- "I'm...I'm c-cold...it feels cold...oh keelah, am I dying? Is this what dying feels like? But I don't want to...I don't want to...please, no, I don't want..."
- — Makk'Veshli as he dies in Garrus Vakarian's arms shortly after the raid that killed him and Archangel's team.
Machinist Makk'Veshli nar Terez was a quarian machinist who was born on the QMFV Terez, was briefly enslaved during his pilgrimage and a member of Archangel's Omega Squad. Born on the agricultural ship Terez, Makk'Veshli was a rambunctious child, happily taking to any task given to him and desperately graving adoration and approval from his peers, earning him a reputation as an "everybody's kid" for being so open and trusting of those around him. This was largely trained out of Makk by the time of his pilgrimage, although he was still highly optimistic, hardly saw the bad in people and had a cheery and positive outlook on society and civilization, and was said to be the most "eager quarian to go on pilgrimage ever seen". Makk believed his machinist skills would allow him to quickly land a job on the Citadel, where he'd set up his own machine shop in time and earn enough money to buy his own pilgrimage gift, one which would land him on the crew of the Caknek, a ship whose captain had been a role model for Makk growing up. At the age of 20, Makk began his pilgrimage early in late 2183 CE, coming off the curtails of the Eden Prime War where another pilgrim, Tali'Zorah nar Rayya, had become famous. Makk's pilgrimage would hit its first roadblock when batarian slavers, who were monitoring the Migrant Fleet for outbound traffic, shadowed Makk's shuttle as it left the Fleet and, once it was out of sensor range, the batarians attacked and boarded the shuttle, abducting Makk with the intention of taking him back to Omega to use as a slave. Makk's shuttle was kept to sell on Omega's ship markets, and Makk himself was brought to the station under guard to be sold to an interested buyer in the asari mafia. Kept in a storehouse where the slavers kept their slaves, Makk was downtrodden and broken mentally, where he realized firsthand the brutality and cruelty of society and it completely shattered his outlook. Before negotiations for his sale could begin, Archangel and Archangel's Omega Squad raided the storehouse, freeing the slaves. Makk met the team firsthand, and was mesmerized by them, and from that point forward, realized he wanted to join them. Knowing they likely wouldn't let him join because of his age, Makk decided to prove himself by spending the next few days hacking into the mafia's main bank of choice and proceeding to transfer the money out and into an account he made with a bank on Earth, which then furthered transferred to another bank on Thessia, which he then sent the details and accessibility information to the squad, offering the money to them in exchange for him joining. When the team realized they were dealing with a young adolescent quarian with a hero worship complex, they were hesitant to let him join but Garrus, reminded of Tali, gave him a chance.
From late 2183 CE to mid 2185 CE, Makk spent his pilgrimage with the squad. Having no combat training whatsoever, he mostly spent his time maintaining the team's equipment, utilizing his skills as a machinist. Makk eventually insisted that he be trained to use a pistol at least, as he wanted to take a more active role in the team's operations, something Garrus was open to, and had Caity Monteague and Kay Vortash oversee. By 2184 CE, despite being the youngest member of the team by far, Makk was respected by most of them, with Sensat Aben, the team's chief cyberwarfare expert, viewing Makk as a little brother, talking tech with him at almost every available opportunity and always keeping close to him so he could look out for the young quarian. Makk would eventually start accompanying the team on combat missions, and while he was very nervous and amateurish at first, he slowly got into a rhythm, and eventually kept his cool in combat, ditching panic in favor of focusing on his job as their machinist, performing field repairs and running interference alongside Sensat. Makk often outclassed their Eclipse counterparts, running rings around their best technical experts. When the team became divided on whether to continue their war on crime or cash their chips and call it quits, Makk agreed with the latter, not wanting to side against Sensat and also wanting to continue with his pilgrimage but, along with the rest of the team, agreed to keep going and use their money to fund further operations. While no soldier by any means, Makk's value to the team was not to be discounted by anyone, and by the end those who had objected to him joining in the beginning ended up respecting him, adopting the same "little brother" mentality that Sensat had adopted, protecting him while acknowledging his value as an asset to the team. Makk ultimately viewed the squad as his "family away from home", and viewed Sensat as his best friend. Makk, once learning who Archangel really was, plied the turian for information on what Tali'Zorah was like during the war, and how it felt to serve under Commander Shepard, the latter topic being difficult for the turian given his commander's death.
In July 2185 CE, Makk'Veshli was in the team's headquarters of the Suri-Kara Hotel with the rest of the team (except for Garrus and Sidonis, the former of which was investigating a lead and the latter doing a supply run) going through their schematics of the station and updating them when the Blue Suns and Blood Pack launched a surprise raid on their base, having captured and tortured Sidonis into giving up his team and leading Garrus away on a false lead as bait. Being inside the living quarters when the raid began, he survived the initial bombardment that killed several members of the team outright, although he heard the explosions and froze in shock as he realized they were under attack, not knowing what to do. Not long after, he went outside to investigate and help as best he could, but found nothing but carnage and much of the team already dead, hostile mercs swarming on every floor of the building. Panicking, Makk was taken offguard when a vorcha spotted him and rushed him, sinking its teeth into his arm: screaming in pain, Makk acted quickly, grabbing a wrench and bludgeoning the vorcha's head until it was dead. Caity Monteague, who Makk found sitting against a wall nursing numerous bullet wounds to her stomach and several dead vorcha around her, gave her pistol to Makk and instructed him to run. Not wanting to abandon Caity, he shot two vorcha coming to finish her off, but Caity insisted he leave and find Garrus. Makk left her begrudgingly, only to come across Krefin Tarak, who Makk recognized as the Blue Suns leader. In a fit of bravery, he grabbed his wrench and hit Tarak over the head, but was quickly spotted and shot in the arm by another merc. Makk tried to crawl away, but was shot twice in the back by Tarak, who then rolled over Makk and shot him again in the stomach, leaving him to bleed out. As such, Makk was one of only two members of the squad still alive by the time Garrus returned to the hideout to find his squad dead, with Garrus trying to console the dying quarian. The reality of his situation sinking in, Makk became hysterical, crying and begging Garrus to save him, only to ultimately die from blood loss. Garrus gathered Makk's body once he had passed along with the rest the squad into body bags, lining them up in their living quarters to keep them outside the carnage of the Kima Siege. Garrus was unable to recover Makk's body after he was extracted by the Normandy Squad, but later scratched Makk's name, along with the names of the rest of his squad, into his eyepiece in an effort to remember them.
