- "A single cargo ship, possibly a freighter, sat docked, its sleek form looking as if it were prepared to leave at that very moment."
- — Tali'Zorah's mental description of the vessel in I: Enigma.
MSV Into the Blue was a Skimmer-class light freighter serving the Taetrus Merchant Cargo Incorporated merchant company. The ship was purchased from its manufacturer, Galactic Railroads Corporation, where it was used to run shipping runs between Illium and the Citadel. When the Reaper War broke out, the ship was used for Operation: Unbroken Spirit, which was a large scale military operation concerning the armament of civilian vessels for delivering food, medical supplies, weapons and troops to combat zones. After the war, it was sold to the Systems Coalition, who then used it for transporting important materials for special projects. In 2200 CE, as part of an elaborate series of terrorist attacks, Into the Blue was hijacked by renegade BSDF troops and dispatched to Logasiri, where it was planned to be used in a kamikaze attack to destroy the Coalition space station Sevastopol. Luckily however, due to the failure of another hijacking, information on the other three attacks was leaked to Coalition Command, and Sevastopol Station was warned: the station then destroyed the Into the Blue before it could complete its objective.
The ship was named for the popular Aemilonian phrase Into the Blue, which was used by navy personnel before going out into battle during the War of the Sea.
