- "The quest for knowledge sent me away from my people; now the discovery of wisdom has brought me back."
- — Lemm'Shal countersign for entering the Fleet.
Technician First Class Lemm'Shal pav Rannoch (formerly known as Lemm'Shal nar Tesleya and Lemm'Shal vas Idenna) was a technician on the QMFV Idenna and later a civilian contractor working for LYMB Manufacturing's systems division on Rannoch. Born on the QMFV Tesleya into a relatively minor clan known for producing technical experts, a history that Lemm embraced with pride, pursuing his passion for technology with the dream of being the chief engineer on the Idenna one day, as he had read up on the ship's history and greatly respected its captain, Ysin'Mal, and his stance on pursuing a new homeworld, being a massive supporter of the New Home program. When departing on his pilgrimage at the age of 21, Lemm'Shal received a modified Avalanche shotgun to take on his journey for protection from the Tesleya's captain, Rasu'Juzh, a reward for his fierce devotion to his people and the resourcefulness he had shown in helping around the ship during his time onboard. Lemm, eager to explore the galaxy (as many starry-eyed, naive pilgrims often started out), arrived on Omega six weeks after his pilgrimage began, only to grow disillusioned with the station and leaving, realizing his view of how he perceived the galaxy to be had been skewed. Whilst visiting the planet Kenuk however, he ran into two quarian crew members of the shuttle Bavea, a scout ship attached to the Idenna, where he learns of a quarian exile named Golo'Mekk living on Omega, and despite being warned against interacting with him, Lemm wishes to meet him and returns to Omega, finding the quarian at a batarian club named Fortune's Den. Upon meeting Golo, he learns the quarian recently sold a pair of quarians to Cerberus for experiments and Lemm, furious and disgusted, demands Golo help him storm the warehouse: despite mostly being indifferent, Golo agrees to help him and convinces Lemm to stake out the warehouse first. Lemm doesn't trust Golo however, rightly suspecting he would warn Cerberus of the impending attack, and instead attacks only an hour later, without Golo's knowledge. Instead of finding the quarian slaves, he finds a group of humans consisting of two children, an Alliance officer and security guard. Recognizing Kahlee from investigations into Saren Arterius, he breaks them out but has to make a hasty escape when Cerberus is alerted, being shot in the leg in the process, but Hendel manages to patch him up and they leave, but Lemm is forced to leave his shotgun behind. Lemm takes them back to his shuttle and they escape the station, agreeing to take them to the Idenna where he believes they'll be safe, and hoping to garner favor with the ship's captain by introducing him to Kahlee.
Once on the Fleet, Lemm is able to introduce Ysin'Mal to Kahlee, and this impresses the captain enough to suffice as a pilgrimage gift, permitting Lemm to join his crew and become "vas Idenna". Lemm joins the marines and security team to defend the ship when Cerberus launches its surprise attack on the ship, disregarding his leg injury, and he subsequently survives the attack unscathed. Afterwards, Lemm goes with Kahlee to Cuervo with the intention of handing over Paul Grayson into Alliance custody, but Paul manages to break free and knocks them out, piloting their shuttle to the volus colony of Daleon where he made his escape. Lemm takes Kahlee back to Jon Grissom Academy before returning to the Idenna, joining the crew in time for the ship to depart on its approved four-year expedition to look for a new homeworld for the quarian race. During his time on the ship, Lemm befriends Gillian Grayson, and is saddened when she leaves in 2186 CE to avenge her father's death at the hands of Cerberus. He'd continue to serve on the Idenna through the Reaper War and at least six years afterwards before resigning his post in the Rannoch Republican Navy, entering into civilian life as a contractor working for the nascent LYMB Manufacturing company as a systems tech. Lemm would later start a family, having two daughters and a son, and passed away in 2263 CE as a result of complications involving surgery to treat his liver cancer.
