Husk, also known as a Standard Husk or Common Husk, is a type of husk employed by the Reapers as ground troops. Transformed through their huskification process, husks are former humans turned into synthetic-organic "zombies". Husks are the most common form of husk employed by the Reapers in the asari cycle, serving as cannon fodder. Husks are incredibly aggressive and, unlike other husks, do not use weapons, instead preferring to lunge at their foes and rip them apart using their teeth or hands. They were also the first husk ever observed by the militaries of the asari cycle, as they were created and employed during the Eden Prime War with the Gen Is, as well as by the Collectors with the Gen IIs during the Collector campaign, although these variants were much less effective, and it would only be perfected in the final Gen III variant in the Reaper War.

Like all other husk types, husks can be possessed by a Reaper to augment their strengths: this process turns them into abominations.
