"Hoppers are a pain in the ass. Fast and nimble, these 'hoppers' are capable of outflanking a squad in an open area, and their constant use of heat sapping allows them to overheat weapons at a rapid pace. Used by the geth primarily for stealth reconnaissance and field disruption, hoppers, depending on their three subclasses, are capable of disrupting communications, confusing their enemy, and causing havoc among their ranks. Recommend exploiting their weak armor and having a quick trigger finger; a well placed shot will kill one immediately."
— Field Combat Report Analysis, Systems Intelligence Administration.

The Hopper-class combat platform, also known as the Geth Hopper colloquially, is a subclass of the geth consensus. Roughly the same size as a trooper while standing, the hopper is a four-legged unit designed for the purpose of extreme mobility, enemy harassment and cyberwarfare, as well as mobile tech support. Whilst not excessively armed like other geth units, the hopper's core purpose is to hack enemy tech and flank and harass enemy infantry, all while remaining constantly on the move: this is largely due to the hopper's extremely light armor, which were sacrificed for the hopper's speed. Because of this, hoppers are deployed in trios or large groups so to as maximize combat effectiveness. The hopper's only weapon is a electromagnetic pulse which they can use to shatter light kinetic barriers and overload/jam enemy weapons.
