The Helix sniper rifle was a bolt-action heat sink-based block-fed sniper rifle manufactured by Jormangund Technologies. Manufactured and entering service in 2177 CE, the Helix sniper rifle was a state-of-the-art, high quality, high-impact bolt-action sniper rifle designed for use by mercenary contractors and military forces: while publicly available, the weapon was very expensive, keeping it outside the ballpark of all but the most determined gun collectors and fanatics. Integrating an advanced heat bleed system and decent recoil dampening, the Helix sniper rifle blended damage output and accuracy with low recoil and excellent heat dissipation, making it a highly balanced weapon for a multitude of scenarios. The weapon was, in design, succeeded by the M-97 Viper following the introduction of thermal clips in 2184 CE, which replaced block-fed weapons wholesale across the entire galaxy following the Battle of the Citadel. No direct successor to the Helix exists, with Jormangund being absorbed by Elanus Threat Management Solutions sometime in 2185 CE.
