The Harpy pistol was a single-shot heat sink-based block-fed pistol manufactured by Cerberus Skunkworks. Manufactured and entering service in 2175 CE, the Harpy pistol was an advanced prototype weapon designed for use by the Cerberus Commandos, possessing an advanced targeting computer capable of smart-link, higher velocity rounds and better accuracy whilst limiting recoil. The weapon became the standard issue sidearm of all Cerberus commandos, and eventually their entire military division by 2180 CE. As they were manufactured by Cerberus for use with their forces, Harpy pistols were not publicly available, and usually only fell into the hands of outsiders when a commando team's equipment was captured. The weapon was, in design, succeeded by the M-3 Predator following the introduction of the thermal clip in 2184 CE, which replaced block-fed weapons wholesale across the entire galaxy following the Battle of the Citadel. The M-3 Predator would replace the Harpy as Cerberus' standard issue sidearm across their forces, although Cerberus Skunkworks would eventually develop the M-358 Talon, a powerful hand cannon, and this would enter service with a large portion of Cerberus personnel by the time of the Reaper War.
