Hannibal-class virtual intelligence
From FABT
The Hannibal-class virtual intelligence was a classification of virtual intelligence designed and invented by the Systems Alliance. Designed by the SAAF, the Hannibal-class is a unique form of VI designed specifically for the military, where it is used on all Alliance warships to aid in targetting solutions, calculating tactical and strategic data and to micromanage essential and non-essential systems during combat. It is also used in training facilities to calculate training scores, manipulate and simulate combat scenarios as well as to adapt to shifting circumstances to create the necessary scenarios to improve soldier combat capabilities and thinking. Because of this, Hannibal-class VIs have often been credited for the performance of Alliance soldiers.
EDI, the Normandy SR-2's AI, was built off the template of the Hannibal-class VI that operated the Luna Training Camp and was destroyed when it went rogue in late 2183 CE when, following an unsuccessful raid by a special forces unit to take the VI offline, the facility was obliterated from orbit by the SSV New Brunswick.
